Trick or Treat on the Trails

LOCATION:  Hickory Knolls Discovery Center, 3795 Campton Hills Dr, St. Charles

 

DATE:  October 23, 2026, 6PM - 8PM

DETAILS:   Dress up in your costume and get into the Halloween spirit! Take a nighttime journey through Hickory Knolls’ beautiful oak savanna for safe and spooky - but not scary - nature fun! Along the trail, encounter activity stations complete with hands-on learning experiences and lots of treats! Bring a flashlight and treat bag. Visit with Hickory’s animal ambassadors who can’t wait to see you. Ages 15 & under must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Escape the Mansion: Greta’s Greenhouse

LOCATION: Stephen D. Persinger Recreation Center, 3507 Kaneville Rd, Geneva

DATE:  October 17, 2026,  1PM - 9PM

DETAILS:  Escape the Mansion is an escape room-style event that pits groups of 10 people against the clock to see if they can solve a series of challenges, clues, hidden passwords, and more before time runs out. For one night only, the second floor of the Stephen Persinger Recreation Center is transformed into the fictitious Madam Klara’s Mansion, an estate built in 1799 which has been rumored to be haunted and filled with dark magic. Participants will be given a tour of the mansion, featuring a newly discovered room of the building: Gustav’s Game Room, where Gustav has left behind cryptic secrets and hidden clues for you to uncover!

LOCATION:  Stephen D. Persinger Recreation Center, Geneva

DETAILS: Don’t miss this day packed with seasonal activities, including a costume contest, Mad Scientist, bounce houses, Halloween Egg “Haunt,” hayrides (weather permitting), and more! Admission is free for adults.

Howl O' Ween Dog Parade

LOCATION:  Peck Farm Park, 4038 Kaneville Rd, Geneva

DATE: October 24, 2026, 9AM - 10AM

DETAILS:  Bring your dogs and dress-to-impress at Peck Farm Park! This event is free, but pre-registration required. Prizes will be awarded!  One handler per dog. One person may bring more than one dog. Additional people are welcome to enjoy the parade.

DETAILS:  Experience a high-octane evening with costumes, a flashlight scavenger hunt, crafts and a movie screening on the big screen!

Join us at the DuPage County Historical Museum for Night at the Museum, our annual Halloween Party! Come dressed in your Halloween costumes and enjoy a high-octane evening. Rev up the fun with a flashlight scavenger hunt, fall crafts and snacks. Experience the excitement of Radiator Springs as we screen the Disney Pixar Movie Cars in the auditorium. The DuPage Society of Model Engineers will be doing a train demonstration downstairs. Feel free to sport your favorite racing gear or come dressed as your favorite character! Admission is $20/person.

Wheaton Halloween Happening 

LOCATION:  Wheaton Communutiy Center, Wheaton

DETAILS:  Join us for a hauntingly good time! This fun-filled evening features games, prizes, touch-a-truck, bounce house, air brush tattoos, concessions, a life-size version of the beloved games Candyland and more. Costumes are encouraged for this activity-filled Halloween event.

Boo at the Zoo - Randall Oaks Zoo

LOCATION:  Randall Oaks Zoo, 1180 N Randall Rd., West Dundee

DETAILS:  Gather your little ghosts and goblins for this fun-filled family event at Randall Oaks Zoo. See your favorite animals, a few creepy crawlers, and more in your costumes at the Halloween-themed event. Trick-or-treating is available all day, and we know you will have a fang-tastic time! A costume parade will occur each day, so dress in costume and join the fun!

DETAILS:  Calling all ghosts and goblins galore... Come to the ARC Center to see what’s in store! Halloween games and lots of fun treats, this Boo Bash is sure to be neat! 

Jump on your broomstick or float like a ghost to the ARC Center to enjoy a hayride, live entertainment, games, crafts, activities and more Halloween fun! All children must be registered. Adults are free and must accompany children.

Ghost Story Train

LOCATION: Fox River Trolley Museum, 365 S La Fox St, South Elgin

DETAILS:  Ride a spooky trolley down to the haunted forest preserve for an evening full of family friendly frights. Listen to spooky chilling stories around the roaring camp fire while enjoying monstrously good treats whipped up by you and Margie's Girls' Kitchen. Join in as our ghostly musician leads everyone in singing campfire songs. Costumes are welcome! This Event is Family Friendly and Suitable for all ages.

Doggie Details:
Dogs must remain on leash. Please no retractable leashes (Max 6ft).

DETAILS:  Be aware of ghosts, witches, and goblins during the Haunted Train Ride. Grab your flashlights and board the haunted train, if you dare! Join us for a spooky craft. Boo on the Bridge

LOCATION: Hudson Crossing Park

DETAILS:  Celebrate the Halloween season at Hudson Crossing Park with an evening of festive fun along the Fox River. Enjoy local craft beverages, food trucks, a live DJ, and activities. Come dressed to impress for the costume contest, featuring prizes for the funniest, scariest, most creative, and best group costumes. Boos at the Bridge is the perfect way to gather with friends and enjoy a festive fall night out. This event is for ages 21 and older.

Monster Madness

LOCATION: Community Park, Lisle 

DATE: October 17, 2026, 3PM - 6PM

DETAILS:  The event is being held at the South Shelter and tree grove in Community Park and runs from 3-6pm. This is a rain or shine event, and the whole event is outside, so please dress accordingly. Costumes are highly encouraged! There will be porto potties available as well as 2 additional bathrooms off the shelter for use during the event.

Check in: When you arrive, you will check in at the PRE REGISTRATION tent, receive an activity wristband and one orange prize bag per child registered. The event runs from 3-6pm and the check in tent will open at 3pm. Please note siblings under 2 are welcome, but they may not participate in activities.

Creepy Café: We will also have our Creepy Café again this year (for an additional cost per item) with sweet seasonal treats, warm and cold drinks, freshly popped popcorn and pizza! Cash and card are accepted.

Children ages 2-10, come and enjoy a festive autumn fun fair filled with friendly games, ghouls and goodies. Win Halloween prizes and enjoy a snack at the 'Creepy Café.' Be sure to dress up in your Halloween costume!
