St. Charles Park District End of Summer & Labor Day Celebration

In celebration of America’s 250th birthday, the St. Charles Park District planned a fireworks finale that will be even BIGGER — with an electrifying finish and a dazzling cascade of color! This event is planned as a result of postponing the fireworks display and evening activities on July 4, 2026.

DETAILS:   Make memories on the farm this fall! Hop aboard a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch, where you’ll choose your very own pumpkin before heading to the decorating station to add your creative touch. Along the way, enjoy all the charm of autumn with old-fashioned games, tire swing rides, and hands-on farm activities. Help with daily chores and explore the farm while soaking in the sights, sounds, and colors of the season. Everyone age 2+ must purchase a ticket.

Scarecrow Fest

DETAILS:  The annual Scarecrow Weekend is held in downtown St. Charles, Illinois. 85+ unique, handmade scarecrows are showcased around town to view and vote on your favorites. There are four categories: mechanical/mega, clubs/non-profits/schools, individuals, and businesses. Visit the Family Zone with live entertainment and many family-friendly activities. There also is an Activity Zone with festive photo ops, Scarecrow-in-a-Box, Touch-A-Truck, and a professional pumpkin carver. Make sure to treat yourself to the many sales, specials, and events throughout town including the Autumn on the Fox Craft Show in Pottawatomie Park.

Autumn on the Fox Art & Craft Show

​LOCATION:  8 North Avenue, Pottawatomie Park, St. Charles

DETAILS:  Our Autumn On The Fox Art and Craft Show began in 1987. We are exclusively in Pottawatomie Park. Pottawatomie Park is a beautiful park on the east bank of the Fox River. It features large trees, a playground and a Riverboat Cruise. There is a large Victorian style pavilion with a tower and water garden. There is a variety of delicious food available and plenty of seating!

All items are handmade by the exhibiting artist. There are over 150 crafters. There is a large variety of jewelry, metal art, stained glass, photography, primitive wood, as well as whimsical folk art. Many crafters have fall décor including floral, scarecrows, iron sculpture, painted pumpkins and carved gourds. There are food products, including soup and dip mixes, a variety of chocolates, baked goods, honey products and BBQ items.

Big Truck Show

​LOCATION: James O. Breen Community Park, Campton Hills Road and, Peck Rd, St. Charles

 

DATE: September 12, 2026, 10AM - 12PM

DETAILS: A rare chance to view the inner workings of trucks, cars, and tractors that are usually only viewed from a distance. Representatives will be on hand to offer "tours" and answer questions about some of the equipment. Bring your camera!

Fall Fest at Goebbert's Farm

DETAILS:   Our Fall Festival is a great place for families to visit and have a full, fall experience! We have plenty of attractions for the whole family. Be sure to stop by the Farmer's Wife Cafe for our delicious homemade caramel apples and apple cider donuts. 

Activities included in the daily admission:

  • Wagon ride out to the Pumpkin Patch -The pumpkin you pick to purchase varies in price based on the size

  • Wagon ride out to the Apple Orchard -You pay for the apples you pick: 1/2 peck bag is $10

  • The Pumpkin Eating Dinosaur- He wakes up hungry throughout the day to munch on Pumpkins

  • The Pumpkin Express Train- All Aboard! This train is fun for all ages

  • The Pumpkin Slide- This is a dual slide so you can race against your family or friends.

  • The Corn Box- Filled with a ton of dried corn, the corn box is fun for littles to climb through or go down our mini slide

  • The Carousel- This vintage carousel ride will bring you right back to your childhood

  • Pedal Karts- Zoom around the track while you take in all the sights of the farm

  • Pig Races-Ready, Set, Go! Who are you rooting for as the pigs race around the track

  • Playground-New to the 2022 season, our playground sits atop turf grass and has tunnels and slides, which is fun for all

  • The Haunted House- Enter if you dare! We continue to add new rooms and scary features to our haunted house

  • Tire Mountain- Can you conquer the climb? A mountain of tires and sand is the perfect entertainment for all kids

  • Animal Land- You can see all of your favorite animals including our Giraffe, in animal land

  • Corn Maze-Can you make it through without getting lost?

  • The Jumping Pillow- Jump so high, you can reach the sky! Our jumping

  • The Beer Bin- Located across from the new Playground, for 21+ you can grab a cold one before you enjoy the farm

DETAILS:  If you enjoy sampling great craft beer, gather your friends and plan to attend Pints by the Pond, Batavia’s popular outdoor craft beer festival, now entering its fifth year. This relaxed, open-air event features unique selections from more than a dozen local breweries, along with food trucks offering a variety of food options for purchase.

Each ticket includes festival admission, three hours of beer tastings featuring up to twenty 3-ounce samples from participating breweries, and a commemorative beer glass. Tickets will be emailed automatically upon purchase.

DETAILS:  Enjoy a ride to our pumpkin patch aboard Halloween-themed electric interurban trains. While at the patch, ask our farm hands to help you find the perfect pumpkin, and pose for pictures in our various colorful, life size cutouts, as well as an antique farm tractor and hay wagon.

Catch the next pumpkin train back to East Union, and consider riding any of the other trains operating that day. Don't forget to visit our Schroeder Store, and take time to visit the rest of the campus. There's a lot to see! Plan your visit here.

Autumn Fair

​LOCATION:  Peck Farm, Geneva 

DATE:  September 26, 2026 from 11AM - 3PM

DETAILS:  The Geneva Park District Foundation invites the community to celebrate the season at its annual Autumn Fair. This event will be held from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 at Peck Farm Park, 4038 Kaneville Road in Geneva. Participants will enjoy many activities (listed below). Admission to this event is free, with minimal fees for some activities, food, and beverages. Tickets are available for purchase to enjoy the pony rides, the petting zoo, pumpkins, and get a bite to eat at the lunch tent! Pumpkins will be available for $5 each while supplies last. Proceeds benefit special projects of the Geneva Park District Foundation.
